These Black or White Cone Piling Cap/Covers are the perfect touch for your marine dock, boat dock, pier or floating boat dock. These cone style caps are made of heavy-duty pylon. The cone shaped black or white caps go over the top of the wooden marine dock posts to protect them from internal rot and damage caused by exposure to the elements and from marine life. The cone design discourages birds from landing on them. They come in black and white and in multiple sizes. Please select the correct size and color in the drop-down list.

We recommend using the string method and going by the circumference of the pilings. DO NOT MEASURE USING NORTH to SOUTH, amp; EAST to WEST, this will not provide an accurate size. How to Measure for Pile Caps

Properly Measuring Pilings Properly measuring your wooden piles will help us make sure you receive the right product the first time. Plus save us both time and money.

Here are some tips for measuring:

Measure all the piles.

Even though all the piles were probably purchased and installed at the same time, the measurements will probably be off by as much as 2-3 inches

1) Most accurate way to measure is to use a piece of string Follow these steps

A. Wrap the string around the pole.

B. Lay string out and measure the length of the string.

C. DIVIDE length of string by Pi or 3.14159 which will give you the diameter of your cone. OR

D. Search for Circumference Calculator put length of string in circumference and it will calculate the diameter for you.

E. USE CHART-See Images OR you can send an email through amazon and we will email you the sheet which is printable.

F. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE. Length of string = 25 inches divided by ? or 3.14159 = 7.95775 Diameter Which = an 8 Inch piling cap

2) Less Accurate way is to Measure the pile in both directions NORTH/SOUTH and then EAST /WEST since piles are often not round. Pile caps are slightly larger to allow for different sized pilings. A piling measures 8.3 in x 8.1 inches should use an 8.5 in pile cap.

FAILURE to measure cones correctly can result in shipping costs being subtracted from your refund.
